How Cliche!

I am currently sitting on the couch feeling a bit relieved as I just finished writing a 7 page photo essay exploring the opportunity I had to teach someone something new! As the guidelines went, I was to teach a 7-12 year old student something they knew nothing about. Immediately I started to panic as I brainstormed for possible students. I soon realized I know only one person within this age range and it just so happened this person was willing to be my student!

So you ask...what did I teach said person? Blogging of course! It is one of my most favorite things to do so why not share one of my hobbies with a willing soul!?

As I watch my student loans quickly increase month by month It seems only clear to actually take what I'm learning to heart and practice what I preach : We learn by teaching, right?

While I did not find this assignment daunting nor difficult it was however a long and on-going process. I began my teaching assignment by creating worksheets about blogging in order to get some creative juices to flow. I hoped that my student would feel inspired and take on to blogging just as I did. We worked through the worksheets and I shared with my student a brief history on how blogging came about and just how influential such a network can be!

Fun fact: Did you know that there were roughly 22 million blogs created by 2005, and about 70,000 new ones are created every day? That is a lot of reading we need to catch up on!

I shared with my student my own blogging history and how I find blogging to be one of the best ways to journal about, remember, and to record some of the most life-changing and exciting times in our lives. Not only have I been working on this blog for some time I also have a wedding blog under my belt for I too felt it was one of my most life-changing and exciting times of my life.

I really do suggest blogging as a way to share with the world or even with close friends and family bits and peices of your life as you feel neccessary to share. Funny how blogging about blogging can even be interesting...I hope!
